1. Publisher
The LEGACY website is published by a non-profit academic consortium. It is part of the research program developed by the Institute for Advanced Studies (IAS) at UM6P (Mohammed VI Polytechnic University), in partnership with:
Aix-Marseille University (France)
University of Chicago (USA)
Columbia University – Center for Comparative Critical Thought (USA)
Specifically the website is funded by the UM6P Chair of Transitions and the Knowledge Tree Module is funded by the uchicago Stevanovich Institute on the Formation of Knowledge
2. Hosting
The website is hosted on secure servers operated by UM6P (Mohammed VI Polytechnic University), Morocco at the school 1337. Address: Lot 660 – Hay Moulay Rachid, Ben Guerir 43150, Morocco. A copy of the website is saved monthly on a server operated at Aix-Marseille Université (58 boulevard Charles-Livon 13284 Marseille, France).
3. Purpose of the Website
LEGACY is a non-commercial digital platform dedicated to the exploration of classical texts using advanced analytical tools. Its mission is to support research and teaching in the humanities through modern technologies, including interactive graph visualizations, semantic search tools, and networks of intertextual links.
4. Data Collection and Privacy
Data Collected:
LEGACY collects only the minimal personal information required to operate the platform:
User’s name or pseudonym
Email address
Institution
No other personal, behavioral, or usage data is collected or stored.
Purpose:
These data are used solely to:
Create and manage user accounts
Authenticate users when contributing (e.g., uploading texts or comments)
Occasionally communicate important updates related to the platform
Data Retention:
All data is securely stored on UM6P servers and will never be sold, shared with third parties, or used for commercial purposes.
Your Rights:
In accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and equivalent international standards, users have the right to:
Access their data
Request rectification or deletion
Object to the processing of their personal data

Unless stated otherwise, the content available on LEGACY (including digitized classical texts, annotations, and visualizations) is provided under open licenses (Creative Commons), according to the rights applicable to each text.
User contributions are also considered open access, unless a specific license is indicated by the contributor.

LEGACY strives to provide accurate and up-to-date information. However, the consortium cannot be held liable for any errors, omissions, or the use made of the content by users.
