WHAT IS THE EEP ?

Presentation of the Epistemic Engineering Platform

The Epistemic Engineering Platform is a pioneering initiative led by historians, philosophers, and sociologists of science to rethink the tools and models of academic research and publishing. By drawing on insights from science studies, it explores avant-garde approaches to scholarly communication, leveraging cutting-edge technologies to shape the future of knowledge production in an open source framework.

A Vision Driven by Research and Innovation

Since its inception in 2018, we have sought to challenge traditional academic publishing by integrating open peer review, AI-enhanced research tools, and collaborative publishing models. We are looking to foster a transparent and dynamic scholarly ecosystem, where research is more accessible, interactive, and responsive to contemporary challenges.

Supported by Major Funding and Institutional Partnerships

The platform has received over $1 million in grants since 2019, supporting its mission to develop groundbreaking publishing tools. Thanks to new funding from UM6P Polytech, starting in January 2025 the platform is now undergoing a major redevelopment phase, with the support of a dedicated team of developers from the 1337 school.

A Major Relaunch in 2025

With this new momentum, EEP is preparing for a full relaunch in 2025. This new version will integrate:

  • THE FUTURE OF SCIENCE NETWORK – A next-generation hub for innovation in academic publishing such as open review and AI-powered journals.

  • LEGACY – A tool for exploring classical texts using AI-driven analysis and network visualization collaborating with an expert network.

  • THESIS CENTER – A research and dissertation management platform designed to streamline academic writing and referencing.
